Incwala and Umhlanga are very important traditional ceremonies of Swazi life. Incwala - First Fruit Ceremony (December/January) – is a Kingship ceremony to renew the strength of the King and the Swazi Nation for the coming year. Umhlanga - Reed Dance (September/August) – is a dance, which attracts young maidens from every area of the Kingdom to honor the Queen Mother.
